Hello all! Thank you so much for joining me as we celebrate the THIRDS 2 Year Anniversary!! Woot! It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Dexter J. Daley and the Destructive Delta crew were unleashed upon the world. I often get asked if while I was writing Hell & High Water I had any idea of what the THIRDS would turn into. That would be a big nope. I submitted Rack & Ruin, book 3, to my publisher before Hell & High Water was even released. I was kinda freakin’ out. I had written three books in this new series, different to anything I’d done before, and the first book hadn’t even been released. My main thought at the time was “please don’t let this tank”. Seriously.
Two years later and I still can’t believe it. I am continuously amazed and blown away by all the love shown to these fellas and the series. After Hell & High Water, the THIRDS Nerds came onto the scene. We are now 686 members strong and still growing. There’s been THIRDS inspired fan art, fan playlists, jewelry, SIMS characters, cakes, and all kinds of awesomeness from amazing readers.
This week Smoke & Mirrors, book 7 is released. It’s been an incredible adventure, but it’s not over just yet. With Smoke & Mirrors ending the way it does, I’ve had folks asking me if this is the end of the THIRDS. Definitely not. Events were planned from the beginning to take the series in a specific direction, the question was what I’d do when we reached the end, because there would have to be an end. By mid-series I would know whether the main series would be it, or of I’d continue on to the next THIRDS adventure. It would all depend on how much I was enjoying writing the THIRDS and if readers were still enjoying reading it. By the time I wrote Against the Grain, I knew I wasn’t ready to give up writing Dex and Sloane just yet.
Right now I’m working on Seb and Hudson’s book, followed by book 9, the last Dex and Sloane book in the MAIN series. So what’s coming next? I’m super excited about what’s coming next year!! The main series may be coming to an end, but the adventure, comedy, and romance is far from done. We’re kicking things up a notch, and don’t worry, our Destructive Delta crew will still be around. Everything will be revealed in Smoke & Mirrors, the turning point in the THIRDS world, and in Dex and Sloane’s lives. There is so much planned! I can't wait to share it all with you!
How about a little teaser?
I know change can be a scary thing, especially when you love the characters, but you'll have to trust me. In 2017, things about to get real. The time has come to put all that training--and then some--to use. Dex and Sloane are going to be kicking some serious butt, and although the new series will belong solely to Dex and Sloane, Destructive Delta will still play an important role. They are a family after all. We may not see them as much as we do now, but they're not going away. Every badass operative needs to have a team at their back, and no team can make it rain fire and wrath like Destructive Delta. We're also going to be introduced to some new key players, and be seeing a lot more of Austen and Wolf. The side stories are still happening. Austen and Zach, Bradley and Lou etc. I'll be announcing the series name at a later date so folks have time to read Smoke & Mirrors. It all starts to make more sense there. I'll let Dex tell you how he feels about this.
Either way, I hope you're as excited as I am. Is the THIRDS world ready for a lethally trained Dex? We'll soon find out. It's like an exciting new TV series in your brain, with lots of action, explosions, kicking-butt, sexy-times, drama, angst, shenanigans, and yes, the tagline remains Action. Comedy. Romance. And that One Weird Guy. Only this time the weird guy's a little more sharply dressed. ;)

Life for Dexter J. Daley has never been easy, but he’s always found a way to pick himself back up with a smile on his face. Taken from his home, and the arms of his boyfriend and THIRDS partner, Sloane Brodie, Dex finds himself in a situation as mysterious and lethal as the Therian interrogating him. Dex learns what he’s secretly believed all along: his parents’ death wasn’t an accident.
Discovering the whole truth about John and Gina Daley’s homicide sets off a series of events that will change Dex and Sloane’s lives forever. As buried secrets rise to the surface and new truths are revealed, Dex and Sloane’s love for each other is put to the test, with more than their relationship on the line. If traversing the waters of murder and secret government agencies wasn’t enough, something inexplicable has been happening to Dex—and nothing will ever be the same.ADD TO GOODREADS
Hello all! The other day I was thinking about what might be fun to post on the blog. I love my blog, but blogging is one of those things many authors--myself included--have trouble with. You'd think it would be easier considering how many words we write a week, month, year, etc. But when it comes to blogging, suddenly there's blank stares and quite often head-meeting-desk moments. Maybe it's because I overthink it? I don't know. I spend a good deal of time wondering what my readers want to know. What type of posts do you all find most engaging? I want the blog to be a fun place, and as much as I adore THIRDS Thursdays, I feel like we need some additional content.
One of the things I thought about was my office. I love my office. It's where all my writing and author tasks gets done, but more importantly, it's my little sanctuary, and because it's my sanctuary, I'm always looking for ways to improve it, make it pretty, move it around, organize, decorate, and so on. It's probably no surprise I love pretties. I also have a slight--don't listen to what anyone else says--stationary obsession. I'm always on the look out for new journal's, notebooks, pens, and accessories to add to my office. I love it. I find it therapeutic too. I also love having inspirational quotes around. As an artist, I need visual stimulant in my space.
I figured this was an opportunity to take something I love and blog about it, so I came up with the idea of taking some pretty pictures of bits from my office space--get it? Office space? I can't take the credit for that, it was Poppy's idea. We're big nerds like that. I might sneak into her office--or just walk in--one of these days and snap pictures of her office space. Muahaha. So every Friday I'm going to post some pretty pictures. What kind of pictures? Well here's this week's![caption id="attachment_12194" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Click image for full size view.[/caption]
I may also post pictures of any cute new supplies or decor I get. I'm happy to post where I buy the stuff if you fancy reading about it. Fair warning, most of it tends to come from the same stores, but occasionally I'll find bits in other places. You'll see a lot of teal, mint, pink, and gold because that's my office color scheme.
I'll let you know if something's new in case you're looking for it yourself. For the next few weeks many of the pretties were bought within the last year when I set up the new office, so you may not be able to find the same items.
